Here is my take on this theme.

The image is UK Betty from Simply B stamps and I have teamed this up with a selection of backing cards and Die cuts from the Cool Britannia collection from Kanban (which is all available in store).

Visit the main blog to see what the other girls have made and to leave you entry.  You must agree, its a great price again this week!

See you soon

Oueen for a Day at My Mum's Craft Shop.

Queen for a day

With it being the Jubilee just around the corner there was only one way to go with this weeks inspiration card.
I had to use the some of the latest Cool Britannia collection from Kanban. There is a wide variety of different backing cards and 2 sheet die cut packs to choose from. The problem will be which ones to get!!! Living close to the shop I was able to pop in and get what I wanted only to return 30 mins later for some more!!!
The stamp is from Stamping Bella and is called Ava loves to celebrate. I thought this was a super cute image to use with this Kanban card stock. I also went with the 'Queen for a Day' sentiment and the traditional red, white and blue flowers to finish it off.

I hope you like.

Any questions you have regarding anything in store just give Kitty a call on
01305 266859
she will be happy to help you out anyway she can.

2nd Release - Steampunk Classic Collection 2

Here we are again with the second amazing release from Simply B Stamps in one weekend!
Once again myself and the other super lucky girls from the Simply Challenged Challenges new DT got to play with them.

This is the new STEAMPUNK CLASSIC COLLECTION 2.

This collection is as stunning the other steampunk collections available from SBS and once again there are some amazing scenes to colour.

My image today is Amarantha and Archibald Meet.

I have used my polychromo pencils for this, but I think in hindsight I wish I had used watercolours or distress inks (but I don't have any cold pressed watercolour card at the moment..eghhhh!!)  I fear I have lost some of the detail by colouring it this way........ Still love it though.

The words are the first four lines from the awesome 'Sympathy for the Devil' by The Rolling Stones.

Please allow me to introduce myself,
I'm a man of wealth and taste,
I've been around for a long, long year,
Stole many a mans' soul and faith.

This is one of my all time favourite tracks and thought the words were perfect for this image seeing as it depicts a 'first meeting'

Don't forget to see what the other girls have done and visit the shop to snap yours up.

The rest of the images are amazing....... 'The Performers' is possibly my favourite today!!!
(I say today...... it will probably change tomorrow!!!)

THRILLER!!!!!!

Second post of the day!  Wow I am on a role!

This time I am bringing you Thrillin Rio along with The House of Usher.
Both collections are available on limited digi release at an amazing $3.50 each at the moment..... along with all other digis in store right now.
These can also be ordered in Red Rubber.  There are some fabulous discount options available for these aswell, for those details please check out the main SBS Blog.
I am pleased with the way these two different styles of drawing have worked so well together.
I have also quoted a piece from the song although I am not sure if Rio and her friend are capable of 'terrorizing' anything....... although maybe Betty will have different things to say about that!!!

Good friends with My Mum's Craft Shop

Today I am showing you a card I have made that is a break from the normal things I like to do.
Having a background in fashion and wedding dress design, these beautiful antique dress forms from Creative Expressions were an absolute must for me! The set includes 5 different dress forms, 2 accessory stamps and 6 sentiments. These come unmounted so you will need some EZ mount or something simular (Kitty will be able to help you with this if you have any questions).
I embossed my dress forms and sentiment and used some black embossing powder to give them some dimension and shine. The papers I have used all come from the Almanac pad from Prima. The ripped corrigated card is something I always have in my stash!! I have distressed the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink from Tim Holtz.

(Having just read this through I have spotted the 'deliberate' mistake on my card!!! Can't believe I have done this...... I obviously didn't stamp the sentiment properly with the embossing ink because I seem to have lost the last 'er' on the end of never!!...... I can assure you this is my mistake and the stamps are all complete!!!!)
Guess I will be remaking this then!! Good job it doesn't take to long and still looks pretty good..... then again do you think anyone will notice??? lol!!!!

Have a great day xxx

The Rios have escaped!

We were planning on releasing the Rio Collection of images next week, but with Betty being out of action and very poorly, Suzi has been left in charge and who knows what is going to happen!!  Well to start of with we thought you might all want to have some new images to play along with over the weekend. So we decided to release the Rio Collection today instead of waiting any longer.

I guess you want to see some images before you go shopping, make sure you sitting comfortably as we have 8 brand new images to share with you.

All the images are available to see and purchase in the store and on the main SBS blog, and the wonderful DT will be bringing you some awsome inspiration over the next few days to get you in the mood!

I am GD again and trying as to do as much as possible to help support Betty through this difficult time,
.............
so right now I have Rock and Roll Rio to show you.

With the real Rio having a a new hairdo there was only one colour this could be!  The blues pretty much match!!!

Come back later when I will have at least one more to show you........  I hoping to get more done but life has a habit of happening aswell.  And as this release has been bought forward to help out and I wasn't even involved with it originally I have nothing planned!!!!  I am flying by the seat of my pants .... lol!!!!!!

See you later xxx

Rain!!

Rain!!

Here is my card for this week. Yes, I know I have used the gorgeous Sun Kiss papers from Prima again this week but I think they are my favourite at the moment!! They remind me that even with all the rain we have been having, that beautiful things appear because of it! And there is nothing quite as nice as seeing a line of sunflowers in full bloom. And these papers are perfect with this adorable stamp from Stamping Bella. This is Lolly and her Brolly...... how cute is she!! I tinted the edges of all the papers with the Antique Linen distress ink..

Why not visit the store and see all the new 'inky' goodies Kitty has arriving all the time. The are alsorts coming in along with the things we all know and love like the die-namics etc!!

Daisy Daisy

Daisy, Daisy........
I hope you all had a wonderful bank holiday weekend...... My father in law is still in hospital over 3 hours away so Graham has gone back up there to try and get things sorted for when he comes out.... everything is really up in the air and we don't know if we are coming or going right now!!

Thank heavens I have a hobby to keep me busy!!

Today I am showing you the gorgeous Daisy Mae from Kraftin Kimmie.

I have used the beautiful new paper pad from Prima called Sun Kiss. I fussy cut 3 butterflies out of another sheet from the pad and just fixed them down the 'body' leaving the wings free to give a sense of dimension. The web ribbon and bow also helped with this. My good old faithfull Oval Stax dies from Die-namics came in very handy again for matting and layering the image and sentiment. Two gold corners and 3 gold pearls finihed off the card.

I used my copics to colour this image and of course Kitty also has them in store too!!!

Have a great day whatever you are up to.

Take care
Trudie xx

Rose - My mum's Craft Shop Inspiration

Today I am bringing you Rose from Kraftin Kimmie. She is now avaiable in store along with all her flower friends and the new Wizard of Oz collection aswell.

I decided to go with a muted, kinda vintage feel with this card and so chose colours and papers to suit this. These papers are from Romantic by Prima, I have also used some plain papers that I had floating around in my stash...... I edged everything with either Tattered Rose or Walnut Stain distress inks. The dies I have used are the good old Nesabilities labels 4 and Die-namices oval stax 1.

I created the bouquet using 4 different styles of flowers, all available in store and finished it off with a length of antique rose seam binding. The lace, dragonfly and sentiment are all things I am sure most of us have hiding away in amoungst everything!!

Have a wonderful day and see you next week xxxx
