My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge 54 - The great Outdoors

Wow, what a horrible wet Wednesday we are having today!!  I am sure not many of us will be venturing outside today so how about getting crafty and enter our latest challenge?

We'd like you to create something crafty from the theme...

The Great Outdoors

This week we're sponsored by the one and only...
Pollycraft have very generously offered this week's winner a choice of 5 single digi's from there online store!!! how fab!!!

Pop on over to the challenge blog to see what my wonderful teamies have come up with.

Here is mine....

I have used Mod Marci digi from La La land Crafts and merged her with Timber Top Ridge digi from Make it crafty.  I wanted to concentrate on the image for this card so I just finished it off with mini chipboard dragonflies  (again from Make it Crafty), a selection of paper flowers and a ticket from Tim Holtz.  I think 'Bliss' sums this scene up totally........

Why not have a look in store and see have all the wonderful new stock that has arrived.
Even when the weather is this bad you can still get that crafting shopping fix!!

Looking forward to seeing your entries for the challenge.

Take care and good luck!!

My Mum's Craft Shop inspiration card

Birthday girl
Morning everyone!

Well here we are at Tuesday again and so far it looks like today might be better than yesterday..... I wish this weather would make up its mind what its doing!!

Well today I have another simple but pretty birthday card to show you.

The image is the beautiful swiss pixie birthday Lucy by CC designs and has been coloured using a selection of copic ciaos that are also available to purchase from the store.

I have used one of my favourite paper pads Spring Drop by Limited Edition. There is a mixture of double sided, glittered and glossy papers in this pad and they are all gorgeous.

Kitty has a selection of Magnolia Dies and here I have used 'Tilda Lace' and 'DoHickey Tag'.

The sentiment is from a pack of pre stamped and cut birthday sentiments from craftwork cards. I always like to have a stash of these things close to hand.

The card has then been finished with a bow made from web ribbon (again something my craft table is never complete without!) and four little pink dew drops.

I hope you agree, very simple but very sweet aswell.

There are even more fantastic goodies arriving in store over the next couple of weeks including the fabulous new Kraftin Kimmie stamps!! I can't wait for them!!!!

Have a wonderful day...... see you next week

Better late than never!!!

First of all I would like to say sorry for this post being a few days late and for missing the main blog post all together!!  I have been a very poorly cookie but seeing as I am feeling a little better now I thought I would get this done and give you all a quick reminder of the fabulous challenge that is going on.

We'd like you to create something crafty from...

Your favorite Song / Movie

Please let us know in your post the song/movie of your choice!

This week we're sponsored by the one and only...

Yep the lovely talented lady Krista Smith has kindly sponsored us this week, with the winner being able to choose TWO of her fantastic Digital designs from her etsy shop here!

I am sure many, if not all of you are aware of how amazing Krista is and I am sure this is going to be a popular challenge.

I have created two cards for this...... one movie and one song!

First up is my 'Rocky Horror Picture Show card'........ (not happy with this at all but I do love Krista's Usherette image!)

Card number 2 is one of my all time favourite songs by (in my opinion!) the greatest band ever!!!

Its 'Kings and Queens' by 30 Seconds to Mars

These gorgeous kiddies are Oscar and Lilly from Jude and the Rockers Limited Digis from SBS.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this track here (hopefully is a link to you tube to watch it!!!

I hope you can notice the little details from the video that I have chosen to use in this card.

Thanks for looking.

Check out the main blog and see what the awesome DT have done for your inspiration (the link is at the top of the page) and get your entry done!!!!!

Verity Vamp Blog Hop

It's Friday already, and time for us to formally introduce you to the last of the Spunky Spooks. Verity Vamp and her friend Boris the Bat. Verity is a beautiful and refined lady, who enjoys the finer things in life, good wine, good friends, good graveyards!! She's very sophisticated, but don't be deceived by her looks, behind that beautiful visage is the heart of a beast, a savage beast!!

I am not entirely sure that is good wine in her glass.......  with a name like Verity Vamp it doesn't take a genius to guess what else it could be!!

You'll find Verity Vamp and her friend Boris the Bat are having a fun hop with the Simply B Stamps Design Team, so hop along to join in the fun.

You should have arrived here from the very lovely Suzi but if you have found me by accident, then why not jump back to the beginning ........ you really don't want to miss what these fabulous girls have been up to.
When you are finished stop back at the main blog and tell us which is you favourite!
Blog hop starts here at the SBS Blog
Trudie < you are here!!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a MASSIVE thank you to Betty and the girls for having me along for this week........  It has been so much fun.

And.......

an  EPIC thank you for all the comments, kind words and encouragement I have had from each and everyone of you who left comments for me.  To say I was a little daunted at the start was an understatement!!!  But you have all given me a huge boost in my confidence and for that I can't thank you enough!!

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL VERY SOON!!!

Time to meet Marcy Mummy and Moses

We are on our travels again today. This time we are off to the mysterious and wonderful world that is Egypt...land of the pharaohs and pyramids, and home to Marcy Mummy and her pet scorpion Moses.

Marcy and Moses are once again coloured using my prisma pencils and I stuck to the blue and gold theme because of Tutankhamun.  I followed this through onto her face just like his mask.  I love how the handmade papers finish this off.

Well we only have one left to show you now....... where has the time gone...... we will be hoping along later on ....... hope you will be there to join us!

Just a quick reminder to say that these beautiful Spunky Spooks are available to buy in the SBS shop.
Digital images are available for a very short time now and then they will just be in rubber.
So right now you can get them in either format...... which ever is your favourite to work in.

Whilst you are in the shop check out the rest of the limited digis that are there...... there is something for everyone or if you are like me..... you will be wanting everything!!!

See you at the hop!!!

Spunky Spooks - Lucy Lycan and Lex

Happy Wednesday blog land! Today we have a fourth preview, and today is RELEASE day! Yep release day! I am so excited for you all to see the rest of the Spunky Spooks and you can now order them all and see them all at Simply B Stamps.net  These have been released pre-maturely due to personal reasons. BUT! I promise you are going to love the rest of the gals! Let's see who is peeking her little head out today to meet you...

Is there a Full Moon tonight? If there is, you'll find Lucy Lycan and Lex having a wild old time in their beloved woodland home. Lucy is a bit of a mystery, as we don't know much about her family, we just know she seems to have an affinity with wolves, foxes and other canines! Don't ask her too many question tho, as she has a tendancy to bite when annoyed!!

See you tomorrow for another of the gorgeous girls!

Lorna Loch and Nessie Spunky Spooks

Day 3 (already) of these fabulous Spunky Spooks!

Having fun so far? Today we are traveling to the mysterious Highlands of Scotland to meet Lorna Loch and her friend Nessie. Yes, you read correctly, Nessie, the Loch Ness monster does exist, and she loves to frolic around the Loch with her friend Lorna.

Lorna and Nessie have once again been coloured using my prisma pencils and I do really like how they have come out.  The rest of the card involved lots of messy techniques which were loads of fun to say the least!!!  First off, I screwed up some paper and covered it with distress inks and water..... I wanted there to be a greeny highlight around where Lorna was going to be placed.  Once this was dry out came my new super bargin buy (!) ...... my tattered angel glimmer mists!  Unfortunatly the shine doesn't show up in the photos but they do make the card sparkle!  I used a magnolia seaweed stamp and coated the bubbles with some embossing powder.  I used some beaded embellishments that are only glued in at the base so that they can move..... I like to think that this helps with the illusion of being underwater.   And last but not least of the messy stuff....... out came the blue and green Micro beads........ OMW!!!  They got everywhere!!!!

I love this image and I think she could well be my favourite..... but then saying that there are still 3 more to show you!!

Remember, same as always....... you must see what the amazing DT have done over on the main blog and from there you will be able to visted each girl and leave them some love.

Would love to know what you think!

Until tomorrow.....

Haunting Hannah and Hoot. SBS preview day no.2 !!

Welcome back to another spooky preview at Simply B Stamps. We are getting rather spooky today with the adorable Haunting Hannah and her friend Hoot. Hannah loves haunting, she was a hippy in her previous life, so has always been a bit of a free spirit; so being able to float through locked doors and walls is a great adventure for her. Haunting is not much fun on your own tho, so you'll find Hoot is always by Hannah's side to keep her company.

Doesn't she look at home in her spooky graveyard?!   The image is coloured using prisma pencils, still need lots of practice but loving them anyway.  I finished this off using a length of chain link and a little key charm and my three newest Memory Box dies.

Don't forget to see what the talented Design Team have been upto over on the SBS Blog.

See you tomorrow for day no3........  mmmmm now is she my favourite??  Could well be but then then they are all pretty fabulous!!

Have a great day and please let me know what you think.

Guest Designer for SBS all week!!!!! Spunky Spooks! Betty Bolts and Baxter

Can you imagine just how excited I was when the lovely Betty from Simply B stamps asked me to be the guest designer for these previews??  Of course there was only one answer!

 MEET BETTY BOLTS AND BAXTER

Today we are previewing the first of a new collection of images by the very talented Alica Bell. They are called the 'Spunky Spooks' and as the name suggests they've got attitude as well as being a little on the spooky side.
Let me introduce you to Betty Bolts and Baxter. Betty is a doll, but she's not very bright, and is terribly accident prone; luckily her Dad is a mechanic and usually manages to put her back together with a few nuts and bolts. Her beloved Baxter is just as clumsy, so they make the perfect pair.

Here is my first card of the collection......Don't they make an adorable pair?
I have used Papers from Almanac by Prima.  Some of my favourite papers ever!!  The cogs, birdcage, and rough edges has all been covered in copper embossing powder from Wow and the shine they have is just gorgeous.   I used my pricking tool and waxed cotton to 'sew' the card together, just like the pieces of shin and fur have been sewn together on our Spunky Spooks themselves!!

Don't forget to check back to the main blog to see what the super talent team have been up to and please leave some love on each and everyone of our blogs.  I certainly love to hear what you think and I know the other girls do to.

Come back tomorrow to meet our second spook and her friend along with whatever mischief they are getting themselves into!!

Don't forget to tell me what you think!!
See you tomorrow
TRUDIE
