Grounding the image. Part 2!!

And now for my second post of the day and my second entry into the Make it colourful -ground your subject challenge from the fantastic girls at Make it Crafty.
This has been a true labour of love over the past couple of days and on the whole I am really chuffed with it......(still need to figure out what to do with large areas of sky though).  I have used whimiscal log and pebblestone patch from Make it Crafty and the stunning Alice, Hatter and Cheshire Cat by Christina at SpeschStamps.  How gorgous are they??  I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan so it really was just a matter of time before they made an appearance on here!! I have also tried the no lines technique with this but for some reason I couldn't get everything to lighten enough.  It was a case of if some were perfect others were to light or dark.  That is why some lines are visiable and some are not!!  I think a lot more practice on the computer is needed.  I have yet to turn this into a card or a project because I am just not to sure what to do with it!!!  I am loving building scenes with the digi stamps and just seeing where my imagination takes me.  It is so much more fun than being stuck at home unwell most of the time!!!.

Kenny K - Layers

Hello everyone.  I hope this finds you all well.
Here is my entry into the Kenny K - Layers Challenge.  I have used my recently purchased Jayne Jetpack digi stamp.  Isn't she saucy!!  She was definatly another one of those 'must have' images....... ummmmm.... like so many seem to be at the moment!!!!  I don't use yellow and green very often and wanted to push myself into doing something a little different for me.  Jayne is coloured using my copics and I have used a  selection of off cuts and die cuts from my stash.  The silver squares don't show up to well in the photo but they are infact small mirror tiles.  It is meant to add to the whole 'Does my bum look big in this?' situation.
Enjoy!!

Simply Betty Challenge - Anything Halloween

Good evening peeps!!  Here is my entry for the Simply Betty -Anything Halloween Challenge.  I decided to go for something cute and made a 'Baby's first Halloween' set.  The idea for this came from the fact that I am due to become an auntie for the second time any minute now!!  Although no one is 100% certain that is a boy coming we are all convinced it is, so that is why I chose to use 'Franken Jude'.... he is just gorgous!!    Along with him I used 'pumkins' that were a freebie from Make it Crafty and the Magnolia 'Castle Background'.  Everything is coloured with my ever faithful copics!
The baby vest was really an after thought but I do think my neice or nephew will look sweet in it.  I used Franken Jude and the pumkins again, coloured them and then printed them onto transfere paper so I could iron the image on to the vest.   I hope this is ok, I have read the angel policy and this wasn't mentioned.  I have purely done this for the challenge and as a gift for my sister once this baby gets here.  (If I have over stepped the mark, please except my sincere apologies and remove from the challenge...... this was never my intention).

I am really pleased with how this has turned out.

Grounding the image.

Well here we are again..... post number 2 today!!  Guess I am trying to play catch up a bit and maybe even get a little ahead of myself.......  can't see that lasting to long though!
I have really enjoyed creating and colouring this picture (card!).  I am addicted to Make it Craftys digital images and the new urban elements are now exception.  I held out for about a week before I had to get them..... just couldn't wait any longer so whilst OH wasn't looking they fell into my basket and then landed on my laptop.  I just couldn't stop them.  They wanted to be with me!!!  Anyway what else can I say, I wanted to try something a little different with them.  From all the examples I had seen they had been used to create 'urban' scenes..... which is obviously the idea but like I say I wanted something a bit different.  I chose to mix the street curb and the broken fence with the country walk background, leaving a gap in the fence to give the idea of a walkway.  I then chose to use the gorgous Lil lolita Chistina from Tickled Pink as my character of choice.  I think she is so pretty and quite dreamy.    The quote is one I made up myself and felt it fitted well with the card and the theme of keeping the image grounded.   Hopefully I have achieved this and I do like the way the street merges into the fields and countryside.

Challenges I would like to enter this into are

Flashback week.

This weeks challenge over at Moving along with the times is 'Flashback week'.  This means we can use any of our old projects and enter it.  I have choosen this card I made using Tilda with Hula Hoop and various different die cuts,  flowers and charms.  The papers are from a Nit Wit set I had free with a magazine a while ago.  I have never entered this card into anything before but it was the reaction I received from friends and family that made me finally start my blog!!  The blog itself is still very new and I am slowly getting to grips with blogland.  I have made numerous friends since starting and the talent and inspiration out there is unbelievable,  I can't believe I left it so long!  So this is the reason I chose to enter this card........  it has opened up a whole new world for me and I am loving it!!!!

Bye for now...... Hoping to be back later!! xxxx

Colouring something to make it look wet!!!!

Well hello everybody!!  This has been an especially hard week due to ill health (again), school holidays and a wonderfully difficult challenge from Make it Crafty.  The number of times I started on this challenge and then got angry and gave up was uncountable.  I would do one really good droplet, then try to do another and completely mess it up!!  This card is kinda the best of a bad lot but I am still entering it.  I intend on practising doing this again and I am always interested to see how I can do things differently or how they have improved.
We have also been playing around with the 'Look mum, no lines' technique, which although has been extremely difficult, has been a lot of fun.  I just wasn't brave enough to combine that in this card!!.
I have used two of my favourite Tilda stamps for this, 'Tilda surfing' and 'Tilda with ice cream'.  They are a few years old now but still very cute and very under used!  I combined these with the 'Beach Babe' paper stack from 'Fancypants Designs'.  These were a bargin I managed to pick up in My mum's craft shop summer sale.
The droplets of water aren't to clear in the above photo so here is a closer view of Tilda's wet suit.

I would like to entre this into the following challenges......

Take care and see you all soon xxxxx

PINK!!!

So, here we are again, it's Friday evening and I am loading another pic for the Make it Colourful challenge from Make it Crafty.  This week the theme was 'colouring with pink' and this is my second entry.  I have chosen to work with the gorgous 'rainbow backgound' and 'Zoe so excited'.  I have used  acombination of copics and promarkers this time around as I am a bit limited in my colour choices and I really wanted there to be different tones of pink so that the colour didn't just swamp the picture.  Foe Zoe's Dress, shoes and plaits I used copic  RV04, RV13, RV21 & RV23 and for her top and bloomers I used promarker Blossom, Pink Carnation & Rose Pink.  The sentiment is 'Ticket sentiments' from Whimsey stamps.  The 3 flower pegs have been in my stash for longer than I care to remember.  Never really found anything to use them with, but I likie them on here because you don't loose the image in a mass of embellishments.

Here is a closer up photo of Zoe in her pink get up!

Have a great weekend xxxx

Monochromatic

My latest card is for the Monochromatic Challenge at My Mum's Craft Shop.  Any colour could be chosen but I decided to stick to black and white.  This is actually a lot harder than I thought it would be.  I chose this image of Tilda because whenever we feel gray we need a hug so thought this would work well.  I spent hours working on her (and I mean hours) using my gorgous copics......C1, C3, C5 and the tinniest dot of C7.  I am pleased with how she has come out although I can see where I would do things differently and whaty I need to work on.  I finished the card using black and white card from my ever growing stash along with satin roses, a hat pin and some other other bits and pieces.

Here is a closer picture of the colour (or lack of colour!!!) work.
Thanks for looking,
Take care and see you all soon xxx

MIC 'PINK' Challenge

Morning !!  I am entering this into the 'Colour with Pink' challenge from Make it Crafty this week.  Thankfully it is just for the colouring (which I am quite pleased with even if it did take a lot longer than I expected) and not for the card because this was a 5 second put together job as my beautiful neice was walking up my driveway!!  (They were very early and I hadn't finished it!!)  The image is 'Apple by Sureya' and I felt it was just perfect.  The story behind this is, Arwyn, was collecting her first pair of glasses and I wanted to make her a card to show her just how beautiful I knew she was going to look in them!  She was a little nervous even though both Mum and Dad wear them...(along with most of the rest of the family!).  The only thing she is nervous about now is that I am going to dye her hair blue!!
This is Arwyn and you can see for yourselves just how beautiful she is and why I chose this image.

Make it Crafty - Colouring Dark Skin

Well here we are again at 10.30 on a Friday evening.  Today has been a long old day and I can't wait to snuggle up into bed tonight.  We had a long drive today to collect my step son William who is here to stay for a few weeks over the school holidays.  Its lovely having him home with us and he is already clashing with my boy Brenden so we are finally back to normal!!  Seems weeks since he was last with us.
Anyway, here is my entry into the Make it Crafty-Colour Dark Skin challenge for this week.  I initally found this very daunting as I guess I was stuck in my ways with what colours I would use for skin.  I am now grateful for the chance to try this (it is something I would never have thought of doing) and am pleased with my overall final result.  So much so that I think I shall be using this colour combination more often in future projects.
The copics I used for this were E31, E33 & E35.I found the blender pen to be usefull for the tiniest of spots but thats all.  I did have to be carefull that it didn't puddle to much...... but maybe that was down to the card I was using...... must get some good stuff!!
Only the one challenge this week for this image.
Good night everybody and have a lovely weekend xxxx
