12 months of Halloween at Simply Challenged Challenges

Its Simply Challenged Challenges time again.  And this week is the first of our monthly "12 months of Halloween"  themed challenges.

The theme this time around is

HIDDEN PASSAGES  / SECRET DOORWAYS

Here is my pop up slider card

The card lays totally flat until you pull on the ribbon..... it then stands up as the bottom slider comes out.
The image is Devil Rio from the Halloween Emos collection.

Like all our other challenges at SCC you have a whole month to join in, just create your project, blog it or post to an online gallery, and add your link to the linky tool on the challenge blog.

Happy Haunting!!

OWWWW and something else you need to be reminded about...

The STUNNING new Halloween Steampunks are only available in Digi form for a very very limited time...when they are gone they are gone..... they then wont be available to the autumn and then it will be in red rubber and NOT all 6 of the beautiful images.

Check out this amazing piece of work from our very own Corinne.

Don't you agree that she is one very talented lady..... why not go and leave her some love on her blog?

So there you go..... plenty for you to be getting on with and don't forget there is still time to enter our previous challenges aswell because each one runs for a month.

See you soon.......

Pretty colours at My Mum's Craft Shop

Today I am going to show you some fun I have had with the gorgeous new Pan Pastels and the beautiful Shanghai Nights and Tokyo Garden toppers from Kanban.

The colours are just beautiful.

I have used the Magenta pan pastel and blended this with the Turquoise using the specialist soft knives and covers.   They blend so smoothly, create very little dust and are so rich in pigment.

I then spritzed with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist as that is what I had to hand.  Kitty has similar sprays from  Dylusions which come in a variety of gorgeous colours.

Once dry I then used a selection of toppers from the Kanban collection and finished off with a few gold pearls.   Unfortunately the photo doesn't pick up the glitz from the spray but you get the idea.

I also made a matching corner bookmark.

These are very simple to do but they look lovely.

If like me, you are a bit unsure of trying new things something basic like these are a good way of playing.
This was my first go with the pan pastels and I can assure you I will be getting more.  I am looking forward to creating some beautiful sunsets with them.

I also made a very much more 'ME' card using the Shanghai Nights backing card.

Once again the lovely Tilda has been coloured with Copics.

Hope you like.

SCC Anything Goes

Hello everyone.... well here we are again with our third challange from
and this time its.......

ANYTHING GOES AS LONG AS YOU USE A SIMPLY B STAMPS IMAGE.

Here is mine.

I have used the super stunning Lavinia Outing from the Classic Collection Steampunks 2.

I used the digital image (which is still available on limited release).  I 'blew' her up so she would fit into an A4 size frame.  Lavinia has been coloured with copics and was a joy to colour.
The frame was a basic cheap frame that I painted with black crackle paint and then made a cover out of thick black lace.  I might sure the lace over lapped onto the glass to add some interest.  I then finished it off with a big black lace bow.  She is now hanging in our living room and not only do I love her but she is a talking point!!

Don't forget to go and see what my fabulous teamies have to show you ........ and really do you have an excuse for not entering this???

I love reading your comments so please tell me what you think!!!

New addition to MMCS.... HELIDOT

Helidot

Hi everybody!! Yes I know I am a day late, but better late than never, right??

Well today I have something totally new in store and different from everything else I usually do.

Creative peel-off designs made easy!

Ok Ok... before you run to the hills because of the words 'peel-offs' just check these out.
These are not your usual thing at all!!

These are infact sheets of black out line shapes that you place on to different papers and then build them up to make the cutest of cute images!!
Don't get scared about not knowing what to do..... they even have simple instruction booklets to help you get started.

Here is my very first attempt at this!!

I kept the card very CAS because I don't think it needed anything else.
I used twine for the fairy legs so they swing free!!
Word of warning though..... it is very tricky to start with but worth it in the end.

I then went on to make this flower in vase using the same technique.

and to finish off I started to get brave!!! I tried to make up one of my own characters....

But you will have to wait for another day to se him because he isn't quite ready for his debut yet!!!
lol!

Anyway over in the store you will find the Fairies and friends collection which is what I have here along with an early seasonal pack aswell. They are fantasticly priced and such a fun idea.

So what do you think?? Do you think YOU will be using 'peel-offs' again soon!!!
I know for sure I am going to be!!

Black hair

Well ok, so my sanity has come into question again........

Black isn't the easiest of colours to colour (!) and hair can be really tricky aswell .......
so what do I go and do.......

ATTEMPT TO COLOUR THE BEAUTIFUL
from Make it Crafty......
with black hair instead!!!!!

Wow.... it certainly was a challenge but all in all I am quite a happy bunny with how she came out.

She took me between 5 and 6 hours to colour and yes I needed a nap somewhere in the middle but she was so worth it.  I am not a fast or confident worker and it was nice to just shut everything off and concentrate on doing the best I could.

I certainly jumped straight in at the deep end with this, but isn't that the best way??
Infact it is a habit I have.......  I passed my driving test on a Monday, collected my brand new car on the Tuesday and by the Saturday I had driven to see my best friend in Pembrokshire which took about 6 hours!!  Never having driven on a motorway before or anything!!!  LOL!!!  Still not entirely sure how I made it there and back alive!!  Colouring this reawoke the same emotions!!!

I would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter this in to the following challenges

Simply Challenged Challenges- SCENE IT

Welcome Back to the Simply Challenged Challenges Blog, Today we have another new challenge for you, just like last weeks; it's open for one month, so plenty of time to join in the fun.

Scene It! - We are challenging you to recreate a scene from a movie of your choice, it' can be a scene from the movie, or even the DVD Cover Picture, as long as it's got something to do with a Movie and you use a SimplyBStamps image, then it open to your interpretation.

This week the SCC DT have all been working with images from the Toxic Teen Collection, a fun and funky collection of images perfect for Kids/Teens/Tweens Cards.

Here is mine.

I kept my card very simple and wanted the image and colours to speak for themselves....... any ideas what my inspiration is??

How about if I sing for you?? lol!!!  Now there is a terrifying thought!

My card is inspired by 'High School Musical'.

Don't forget to see the other creations by the amazing DT girls and see if you can guess the films!!

I love these Toxic Teen images..... they are super cool!! Great for girls and boys cards.

These are available in Digi form from the store but wait there.......

Betty is doing an amazing offer on her digis again but you need to get in quick before time runs out
The code is valid until Midnight PST 14th June, so still a little time to treat yourself.

So which film are you going to choose for your inspiration???

See you all soon

Under the sea......

Hello everyone!! I am a little obsessed with all all things water and beach related at the moment. There really are some gorgeous stamps, papers and embellishments out there right now and I am pleased to say My Mum's Craft Shop has lots to get the ideas flowing. One of my favourite sets at the moment has to be the Stella Di Mare collection from Serafina. Kitty has available in store the 6 x 6 and the A4 paper pads and also some co-ordinating 3D stickers. The colours are beautiful, various shades of blues, pinks and purples. They even have glitter on them, making them twinkle!!! I hope you can see that by the pictures. They are new in store and the details will be uploaded soon but if you have any questions you can always contact the shop.
I have teamed these with the uber cute Mermaid Kaylea from Some Odd Girl Stamps and coloured her using copics in colours to match. The sentiment ticket is by Raindrop echos for Whimsy Stamps and is from a set that I seem to use a lot! I have then finished this off with a scrap of gauze (to resemble some fishing net), some Hobby House pearls and charms.

I hope you like and I can promise you I will be using these again and again and again!!!

Oh.... two things before I go

SIMPLY CHALLENGED CHALLENGES Embrace your inner Betty!!

Welcome to our first challenge in our new home, you'll find all Simply Challenged Challenges here from now on. We will be having 4 challenges per month, with each challenge lasting a month, so today's challenge SCCJune7 is open for entries until July 6th and then we'll post SCCJuly7.

On the 7th of the month we will have a Hosted by... challenge, which will be hosted by DT and Guest DT members.
On the 14th of the month we will have a Themed Challenge.
On the 21st of the month we will have an Anything Goes Challenge - you just need to use a SBS image.
On the 28th of the month we will have our 12 Months of Halloween Challenge - a different Halloween Challenge every month of the year.

Prizes!!! Well you never know what the prize will be every now and again there will be a Suzi' Surprize Prize, all i can say it will be based on participation in our challenges, so you gotta be in it to win it!!

Now onto today's challenge;
Hosted by Betty - Embrace your Inner Betty
Your challenge is to create a project using any of the 'Betty' images from SBS to show us your Inner Betty, we want to see what Betty's images mean to you, so you might want to make a fun and quirky card, or something spooky and beautiful, it's up to you!!

I was allocated the gorgeous Morning Betty and here is my card.

For those of you who know Betty you will know that I had to use this set of papers from Echo Park because the pink is the same colour as her hair!
Doesn't she look all glam and calm having just got out of bed....... not to mention totally organised!!

I have coloured her with my copics but unfortunatly the camera hasn't picked up all the brightness in the card.

I can not express just how excited I am to be part of this DT.  Betty, Suzi and the other girls are just fantastic...... so funny, adorable and talented.

Check out the main blog for the creations from everyone else and be sure to get your entry in.

Wait till you see what we have coming up for you in the future!!!

Lets make this the best challenge blog out there!!
