Haruka and Michiru..... don't you just love them!

Evening friends and followers! Just a really quick post tonight as the dreaded lurky is well and truely at large in our house and I can hear the bed calling!
For this card I have used another of the totally amazing images from Sureya at Deviant Art.  This one is haruka and michiru and I absolutly love it!!   I spent hours trying to do the image some sort of justice with the colouring and overall I am happy with it.  I finshed it off with some corrugated natural brown card and a sheet of dotted paper....(No idea where it came from.... it was in one of my many odds and sods tubs!) and  three  cerise candy drops.  The sentiment is from Polka doodles.

Tickled Pink Wizard Eric side stepper card.

Well look at this, my second post in as many days and I still have more to come!!!  The house is a tip and the boys are having to fend for themselves but I am very happy and content...... even if my head does want to explode!!

This is my second project for the Tickled Pink Challenge this week and again I have had fun ripping!  This time I decided to use the 'Core-dinations' paper.  I love the effect that this gives when you play around with it.  As you can see from the photo, not only have I ripped it but I have also embossed and sanded it aswell.  I thought this embossing folder was perfect for the look I was going for.  My chosen image this time was Lil Haunts Wizard Eric .  Again he is in digi form here, I just love the versatility of the them......plus I don't end up wearing as much ink as the stamp does!!

Tickled Pink 'Mummy' Halloween

Morning peeps..... Hope you are all having a great weekend now that Autumn is well and truely with us!  Didn't take long to get here did it?   I just wanted to show you what I had been upto whilst this colder weather has been coming in.  I decided to do something different for this weeks challenge over at Tickled Pink .  The theme is RIP something...... as in either rip or R.I.P.  So I decided to pretty much 'rip' everything!!!   I went back to my roots this time with using fabric.  Admittedly it is only muslin torn into bandages but it still felt great to be handly fabric again.   There was only one image I could use for my 'vision' and that was the fabulous 'Digi Lil Haunts Mummie Christina'.  I took inspiration for this wall hanging from my lack of organisation two years ago at Halloween.  You see, my son, Brenden, (then 10) came home from school and decided he wanted to go trick or treating with his cousin Arwyn...(adults were there too).  Being ten any costume thrown together last inute wasn't quite 'cool' enough.  Well this resulted in me ripping my plain cream duvet cover into bandages for him and wrapping him up as a mummy!...  He looked great, even though he was stuck in there till I decided to cut him out, which of course was after a major fit of giggles because he needed the toilet and couldn't go because I had wrapped him up so well!!!
I also chose to do this because Tickled Pink are doing a Guest Design Team call (finishing in a few days) and last week my mojo was a little lacking.  Last week I entered the 'First Christmas Card' (seen on this blog) and it was very C&S.  I wanted to show the other end of the spectrum this week and do something 'different'.  Last week I focused on the colouring and this week I leant more towards materials and placement.
Here is a list of what I have used.
Image- lil Mummie Christina
Fabric- plain light weight muslin ripped into bandages

First Christmas Card!!

Well it was about time I made a start really now wasn't it??  I decided to break myself in gently and keep it quite simple, just focasing in the gorgous image from Tickled Pink and colour.  This is the digital verson of 'Lil Victorian Steampunk Lolita Evie' and I thought she would look great coloured up like this.  I used the largest of my new nesties (Labels 4) and placed it so that the bottom edge of the dress wouldn't be cut off.  I like the contrast this gives. She is mounted on red and green card from my stash.    I also used a chipboard bookplate from Tando Creations and painted it green.... I then used a couple of my copic markers to give it some depth but unfortunatly that doesn't really show in the photo.    This is then finished off with 2 emerald colour brads, a simple sentiment and some red ribbon.
I now feel ready to tackle some more christmas cards and even a few gifts!!!

Purple Rain

Good evening peeps!  First things first......  How gorgous is this image?? She is called 'Let it Rain', one of the new releases over in Saturated Canary's Etsy Shop.   If you haven't seen them yet get yourself over there and be prepared to part with your cash because you won't be able to help it!
I was already aware of the challenge on Make it Colourful which this week is to colour with purple and another challenge from Charisma Cardz which is to make a card inspired by a song.  So when I saw this image it just jumped at me.....  I instantly thought of 'Purple Rain' by Prince.  Yeah its an oldie, but its still a goodie!!!  Purple is one of my favorite colours and seem to have coloured so much with it lately.  (I always seem to use more purple around Halloween anyway).  With such a beatuiful image I wanted to keep things quite simple.  So she is just mounted on purple card from my stash.  I have used a chipboard bookplate from Tando creations (coloured purple to match) with just a simple 'Miss you' stamp.  I used the same card to again with some white mesh (no idea what it is called, sorry!) for the underlying stripe.  I finished the card off with a couple of diamond crystal head pins from Create and Craft and 3 purple drops.

Kenny K- Vintage/ Grunge

This is my entry into Kenny K's- Vintage/ Grunge Challenge.  I just adore the new Steampunk/Burlesque digital stamps (and I have to say they are a huge hit with the boys in my house aswell....... although for the life of me I can't think why that would be!!).  They take some serious concentation when colouring but so worth it in the end.  For this challenege I decided to use 'Atlantea',  I wanted to give the metal work a 'coppery' feel but being limited on copic and promarker colours at the moment I ended up using a 'burnt orange' PM along with a blending pen to add a touch of highlight.  To be honest I am happier than I thought I would be with the 'coppery' colour.  I coupled this with a denim colour and black rubber to achieve the overall look.
I then did a google search for suitable images to go with her.  I knew what I wanted but I also knew that my drawing skills were not quite up to the challenge of what I was looking for.  I came across 'Steampunk Fish' by Vanessa Blair on Deviantart.  It was like this image had been plucked from my head and drawn just for what I wanted!!!  Even the colours matched.  I used a big chunky brad from 'Life's Journey' to use as the fish's big metalic eye.  The papers were from KandCo and I have distressed them with good old Walnut Stain distress ink.  The final touches are a gauze patch and a 'Journey' sticker.
Here is a closer look at the beautiful Atlantea.
Hope you enjoy.  Have a lovely weekend and happy crafting xxxx

Make it Crafty-'Look mum no lines' Challenge

Here is my entry for the 'look mum no lines' challenge over at Make it Crafty.  The photo doesn't really do it any justice but overall I am happy.  I have used the 'Mushroom House' digi stamp along with the new 'Sweet Devilina' from the Halloween section.  I used my good old copic markers for this and even had to include a couple of promarkers when I was low on colours.  There are more colours involved in this technique that you can believe...... far to many to list.  Anyway I hope you like note only the picture but the fact that this blog entry is really short!!!  Have a great weekend xxxxx

Books and Babies!!

Well first things first...... hello out there!!!  Hope you have all had a lovely week and been making the most of the end of the holidays, although I guess the children have already returned to school for some of you.  Brenden goes back on Wednesday and I have to say I can't wait!!!  I am looking forward to getting a routine back aswell as my crafting table and stash that seems more often than not to have a 12 year old boy rummaging though it!!!
Well last week was bit of a downer for me, even though I became an Auntie for the second time (but we shall come to that later).  As I have said before I suffer with Intercrainial Hypertension and for some reason just lately things have been getting steadily worse.....(it goes through phases with me).... I have been really limited in what I have been able to do not only because of the headaches but also my eye sight has been effected.  Just waiting on some test results again now.
ANYWAY....... the important bit!!!!  The card above is for the latest Tiddly Inks Challenge.  This time the theme was 'Reading Fun'.  I love books and will read anything! (another downside of having IH is my reading has been really limited lately).  I love the fact that anything is possible in a book and that we make the pictures for the story ourselves.  I would rather read the book than watch the movie, or at least have to read the book first.  This card is all about the freedom that reading gives and thats why I chose the wording 'Where will your next book take you?'.  I have included a bookmark with this card.  I have used the free open book image, the dream castle and 'Alison' all by Tiddly Inks.  I have used copics and distress inks to colour the images and papers.  I felt the plain corrugated card (that seems to be a major staple of mine at the moment)gave the right amount of texture needed to lift the image.  Luckily I have a lovely little paper warehouse less than 5 mins away from me who has always got plenty of this, and that is actually where I got the harlequin paper and the book brad.  These were part of a scrapbooking set including stickers and rub ons etc...... all with a witch /wizardy feel.  I have had it a while but have never found the right projects to use them on.

Now a quick note about my beautiful nephew.  His name is Gethyn and he is the younger brother to the gorgous Arwyn.  I just had to share this picture.....and for those of you that have read this blog before 'I just knew this baby was going to be a boy!!!'
How beautiful do they look???  Arwyn is so proud although she does keep forgetting his name!!!
See you all soon xxxx
