A Very Merry Christmas from the 'That Craft Place' challenge design team

 IT'S CHRISTMAS!!

So how many of you are like me and completely disorganised??
I had such good intentions as well!
And yes, I do still have cards to make!!

Over at That Craft Place we have one more challenge for you this year and its everyone's favourite

ANYTHING GOES!!!

I am showing you a few of my last minute CAS Christmas cards.  These are so easy to do but I am really pleased with how they look and I have had great feedback from those who have received them. I have made all my Christmas cards like this, this year. I have just coloured various different stamps, rubber and digital with copics and mixed them with different sentiments, drawn a border 2cm in from the edge and mounted and layered.  Some have had glitter added, others have had gems and some have even had a bit of snow tex.  But all in all they have been kept very clean and simple.  They were a joy to make and so quick and easy.  Just perfect when running short of time and having to do lots.  I hope you like them.

A little bit of snow tex makes all the difference.

The first two are of course this years Winter Wonderland Magnolias (which I just adore) and the third is a digital image from Saturated Canary.  The sentiment on this one is from Stampendus and I think it is just perfect for this image.

Don't forget to add your makes to our challenge blog and have a very wonderful Christmas

That Craft Place - Halloween Challenge

Morning!

 So who remembered to put the clocks back and who didn't??

I am getting ready to brave the storm we have heading our way from tonight.  Looks like it could be a biggy!  Guess I will be stuck indoors for a while which I guess means a few major crafting sessions coming up.  Perfect excuse if you ask me!!

Anyway its time for our new challenge over at TCP, and seeing as the bad weather is on its way, you have no excuse for not entering!!

Our challenge this time is

I have used the super cute Fast Food Fly By image from Saturated Canary and printed her using the 'No Lines' technique.

She is coloured using copics and kept it simple to show of the colouring.  I used a shaped card blank and some basic embellishments to add some interest.  The sentiment is from CC designs.  Everything else was from my stash.

Now for something extra exciting!!

We are having a DT call over at That Craft Place.  You can find full details of this on our blog.
This really is a wonderful team to be on!

All Dressed Up - Grounding and Grass tutorial

Good Morning fellow crafters!
 Today I am answering a Facebook query posted by Lyndsey Turner who asked about grounding images and colouring grass.

I have used one of the Three Little Autumn Girls that can be found HERE for tutorial.  I hope you find it useful.  This is my first tutorial of this type so any pointers or if I have missed anything please feel free to comment and ask further questions.  I will try to help as best I can.

This tutorial is based on what I do when colouring, there are various different things you can do but these are my methods!
xx

(all colouring is done with Copics)

~~~~~
Grounding
First finish colouring your selected image.
I then used C4 to colour a direct shadow underneath her feet, then C2 and C0 blended out so the shadow appears lighter.
This looks pretty simple but it certainly makes her look like she is standing on something rather than floating on the page.
~~~~~

Colouring Grass

Again start by colouring your image.

For the sand/ground I have used a mixture of  'E' colours and some W4.

The first colour I applied was E55. Start by scribbling some small areas.

The next colour was W4, and I did the same again to begin filling in the gaps.

Then I used E23, E29 and E35.  These can be used in any order and any combination.

Now we start on the grass.  I used YG97 and holding the pen vertical and lightly against the paper use a small flicking motion upwards.   This will give the illusion of a thicker stalk nearer the ground and then tapering off to complete the blade.

I then did the same using the YG67.

And then finished the grass off with the G24.

The grass looks much more realistic and effective done like this, in smaller blades or clumps rather than colouring a large area.  You will notice that the blades go over the boots and the soil.  This helps to ground her.  I finished off the image by using the W4 directly under her feet just to add a little more depth.

I hope you have found this helpful.  These are really the first stages we can go into more detail by adding flowers etc another time.

Don't forget to join our FB fan page and leave your questions for myself and Lisa Horton to TRY (!) and answer!!

Have fun......

That Craft Place Challenge = In the PINK!

I am back today with my first post for while for That Craft Place.
The lovely Lisa and Erin allowed me some time to get myself back on track but now I am here again!!

This week we are launching our

PINK

challenge!

Think that is kinda self explanatory ..... we want to see lots of pink!!

Here is my card.... I have kept it very simple to show off the gorgeous image by Sureya, an extremely talented artist.  I have use copics to colour her up.

The black and pink card are from papermania.
The sentiment is one of a set from MFT which I purchased along with the shredded ribbon from instore.
The skull was one of a few I was given as part of a Halloween swap last year and has been sat waiting for the perfect project.  I think she finishes it off just right!

I hope you like my inspiration and decide to have a go....
Pop over to the challenge blog for full details and some AMAZING creations from the girls..... boy are they awesome!!

Make it Crafty have some new brilliant Halloween style images which I totally love!

The first one I have coloured up is Vamper Voodoo

I have used Copics to colour the image and kept the card very simple to show him off.  The green backing paper is from Glitz design and is an older design from my stash.  Happy Halloween has been cut on the Cameo.  Ribbons from stash.  And what Voodoo card would be complete without a few pins!!!!

Make it Crafty and Little Miss Muffett Graffiti Party

Ok, I will first off apologise for being away for a while.  I am still taking some down time and just enjoying playing with my pens and my brand new cameo!  It has been so nice not to be pressuring myself and just playing around so much more.

The new release from MIC and LMM is just perfect for this.
If you haven't seen it, where have you been??
 Check it out

They have even offered a freebie package which we were encouraged to use and make something for a competition.

I have used two of the freebie images and one of the Urban Gang for my project.

I also used my cameo to cut the paint splats out.....

Obviously this has been coloured with copics!

Hope you like this..... be prepared to see more of this fabulous collection.... I am already straight onto my next one!!

This is Tilda Longstocking and she has been coloured with the full range of 'C' copics greys.

Make it Crafty's Alice in Wonderland Tea Party

It’s time for the Make it Crafty to pour a round of drinks at the super special tea party celebrations!

Not only are we celebrating the magical release of Alice in Wonderland, but Make it Crafty has turned 3! All thanks to YOU, the incredible artists and the amazing Make it Crafty team!

Let’s dance around from chair to chair, sipping a drink, eating a cake, shrinking then growing with excitement as you watch the entertainment unfold before your eyes.
Be careful not to miss the hidden words as you’ll need to collect them along the way and string them all together to form a quote. Simply enter the quote at the end of the hop for a chance to win!

Hopefully you’ve found your way from Stephanie, but if you’ve just skipped a chair or two you might want to start back at Zoe’s Blog.

I have made two different cards using FIVE of the new images!!

The fun doesn’t stop here and if you head over to Barbara's blog she’ll be sure to treat you with…

OPPS!!!!  NEARLY FORGOT!

Do you need this??

Enjoy our Tea Party, don't forget to leave some love and collect the words on the way.

All the new AMAZING images can be found here

New challenge at That Craft Place - Its a girl thing

As many of you are aware I have been quite seriously poorly with my asthma and have even had a stay in hospital, this is why I haven't been around lately.  My mojo has left me totally..... I think the nurses took it all with the blood tests I was having to have.  I am seriously having trouble colouring as well.  Not only because of the heat zapping every last ounce of energy I have but also the amount of new meds I am now taking are making me shake uncontrollably.  Its very frustrating and is driving me insane!

Thank heavens for all the Gorjuss Girls stuff I got from Lisa at That Craft Place!

It meant I was able to make some things for this weeks new challenge without having to pick up a pen to colour!!!

Our Challenge this week is
It's a Girl Thing

And this week we are being sponsored by

Check out the main challenge blog for full details and some pretty awesome DT projects!

Here is what I made with my Gorjuss girls packs, ribbons and other bits and pieces.

I hope you like these...... they are a little different from the norm for me but under the present circumstances I really like them.

I am hoping it wont be to much longer till I am back to normal but it is also looking like I may end up back in hospital again soon...........

Can't wait to see some of your makes xx

Have you entered the "S is for......." challenge over on the Scrapper's Delights yet??

If not WHY NOT!!!

Today is the day that team A get to do a midway reminder and further inspiration post.
After using Hero Boy last week, it was only right to use Hero Girl today.

I love the pink and black together!

I coloured this with my Copics and Graph'it pens.  The stars were cut using an x cut die and everything was glued down with pinflair glue to give it some dimension.

For a limited time you can get this little beauty for $1.50 from the Whimsy store !!

Now you have no excuse not to enter the challenge!!
