Make it Crafty - Surprise Gift for a friend Hop

For my surprise gift for a friend I have altered a plain boring photo frame.

The frame has been painted in a turquoise acrylic paint and then spritzed with a combination of Dylusions and Glimmer mist to make it sparkle.

I have used Foxi Sprite,Roxi Sprite and Moxi Sprite digital images.

I have also used 2 different styles of chipboards.
The butterflies are from the Butterfly Leaves pack and the florishes are from the flower leaf swirls.  these have all been decorated using a combination on prisma coloured pencils, Dylusions and Glimmer mist again.
The butterflies then have some tiny gems glued to their bodies.

The large blue flower has been made up of some different sized flat petals and one mulberry paper flower.  I finished off the look with two diamond headed pins and some baby blue stickles.

I really must get into the habit of keeping a note of all my colours!!!

Hop on through the list below to see what other beautiful projects the girls have been doing.

Valentines at That Craft Place

Its time for another challenge over at That Craft Place and this time we are all about love and Valentines.  I have made a wall hanging using Tilda with big tulips.

I coloured Tilda with my distress markers for a change from the copics.

The papers are 'Firefly' by Prima and are without a shadow of a doubt my favourite papers of the moment.  The colours are so bright and vibrant (even if these photos don't do them any justice!).

How adorable are these hangers??  The gorgeous Lisa has a whole selection of different hangers over in the shop.  Each and every one of them is adorable!

I was lucky enough to visit the shop last week and WOW, that place is amazing.  A group of us all met up there and caused chaos.  It was the best day, with the best people in the best place!!

xxxxxx

I would like to enter this into the following challenges.

Happy Valentines day from Make it Crafty

IMG_2789

So how many of you are feeling all loved up and romantic?  I certainly am after getting to play with the new chipboard Carriage that is coming soon to the store.  It is so easy to put together and looks great!  I have used cosmic shimmer acrylic glue as it sticks EVERYTHING, dries quickly and completely clear.   Once dry I painted it all with white gesso to give it a clean base and then painted with red pearl cosmic shimmer paint.  Unfortunately getting that to photograph well is impossible but I can assure you it twinkles lovely!!  The burgundy  decorative swirls have been painted using my favourite nail polish.  This was an idea from my fellow team mate and it works like a dream,  it gives a lovely sheen and twinkle.

I used http://www.makeitcrafty.com/girl-with-glass-slipper-digi-stamp.html and http://www.makeitcrafty.com/prince-charming-digi-stamp.html to bring this to life.  I think this carriage is just like the one Cinderella would've had.

There was a lot of fussy cutting done with these characters and I then mounted them onto acetate stands so they can be moved around and played with.  My next job is to do the same with the rest of the fairytale characters and make a playset up with them all.  I will be the best Auntie in the world then!!
Products and colours used.

Make It Crafty - Friends

This is my first weekly inspiration post since joining the gorgeous girls at MIC, so please bare with me! Our theme this week was 'Friends' with the added option of including 'Brown Hair'. I decided to venture away from the usual female images and went with http://www.makeitcrafty.com/sam-and-dylan-fishing-digi-stamp.html. This image reminds me of the stories my OH tells me about when he started fishing with his friends.

I think this image sums up friendship perfectly. I teamed the boys up with http://www.makeitcrafty.com/rainbow-meadow-digi-stamp.html to give them a background.

I wanted to keep things bright and cheerful.... hopefully the nicer weather isn't to far away for us in the UK although I am not holding my breath! I mounted and layered the image onto Tim Holtz distress paper using the green and the bkue to mimic the hills and the sky. I have used the cloud die from Memory Box to add some extra floating clouds to the scene. The chipboards are of course http://www.makeitcrafty.com/mini-dragonflies-chipboard.html and I have coloured them with blue Cosmic Shimmer Dazzel Paint. These dragonflies are a staple of my craft box and find I use them a lot!

I finished this off by using some of Graham's handmade pole floats. He is an avid fisherman and whilst I craft he makes his own own floats and rigs (the hook and line bits!! lol!!) He is very talented at this and he does know I have used these on this card!! Apparently they are some of his 'below par' makes so it was OK to use them!!
This has been coloured with my copics and I didn't make a note of what I used! Sorry, guess that is a new habit I have to get into.
I can tell you I used E50, E51, E53 with a touch of E13 for the skin tones and B93, B95, B97 and B99 for the jeans though!

That Craft Place - White on White

Its time for another challenge over at That Craft Place and our lovely Erin has chosen the theme of

WHITE ON WHITE

You are allowed to use colour for your image and sentiment but then everything else has to be white!!

Here is a valentine card I made using Raining Hearts Tilda from Magnolia.

As you can see, Tilda has a face!!  We have been playing around at Make It Crafty challenging eachother and i was quite pleased with this so thought I would include her for this card!

I have used a combination of DooHickeys and Die-namices dies along with Sizzex embosing folders to make this.

What do you think of her face??

Hope you like it!!
